Can you kill monsters in penumbra

They are all connected to each other through a central mind. To them there is no such thing as an "individual", with the exception of Clarence, who was killed after becoming an individual. Infected are controlled and maintained by one Mind known as The Hive Mind. The Hive Mind is a spirit just like in an Inuit Mythology. The Hive Mind connects every infected in The Shelter, and they worship the spirit, as seen in the Tuurngait Tomb door picture.

Infected can carry up to two items at maximum in their hands. These are items they can carry: Flashlights, Crowbars, and Axes. Every item has its own bonus. There is still a complicated method to "kill" the infected.

The player must lure it to a random place like a corner, and then throw a box or other item at it repeatedly.

Thumping the infected quickly with the object will kill it; it will start coughing and choking until it finally collapses to the floor, dead.

The Infected prowl the map's hallways and will chase Philip on sight. It isn't hard to be aware of their presence, an example being in darker areas, where they're carrying flashlights. If you do end up being noticed by an Infected, the most important thing to do is to run away.

Running is the best and only way to handle an Infected, with the exception of two moments in Black Plague. The first moment being where you need to lure an Infected into a room and then trap it. Penumbra Wiki Explore.

Ex: When you go to the right wing and enter storage you will notice that on your way there, there will be some noises coming from the bathroom to your left, when you got the gas mask from storage and exit, when you'll pass near the bathroom door a monster will smash through, all you have to do is dodge him and run for storage again, when you come out the monster and the one patrolling the armory will be gone.

But unfortunately sometimes when you get out of a loading screen to a previously explored unpatrolled area you may notice monsters there :D. You know what the plutonium said to the nuclear physicist?

User Info: nito Yeah liike Icarus said , they are random and appear in unexpected areas to keep the player on his toes, i mean without youd prolly simply run around from place to place and that would feel like youd be working for fedex or sumtin, maybe you should try and play with some headphones and dim the lights to get into the survivor atmosphere. Well, the dark corridors, weird happenings and sounds are more than enough to keep me on my toes.

Oddly enough, the patrols don't scare me, just annoy me. Oh well, I guess I'll just have to stop sprinting and start crouching. More topics from this board How to take an item from inventory and use it in the game, for instance put coin in the vice in the first cell scene?

User Info: Shaamaan Shaamaan 13 years ago 1 While I love the mood and the feel of the game, the patrol annoy the hell out of me. They're only mildly scary when you run into them the first time , and from there on out they're just annoying. In the first game, one had the opportunity to kill the doggies or whatnots. This time around, I see no such option. So, legitimate in-game stuff is impossible
